Bonebridge Education: 2026 Wet Lab Event

On 7–8 May 2026, we hosted our annual wet lab event at the Institute of Anatomy in Bern, Switzerland. Over the past three years, the course has grown into a key part of our education calendar and a cornerstone of our new Bonebridge Education program.

When we set out to create the first event in 2024, we had a clear objective in mind: to establish a collaborative learning environment that combines practical surgical training with a dedicated focus on the principles of orthopaedic trauma. It’s a format that obviously resonates: The course was once again fully booked in 2026.

In many ways, the wet lab event has become a reference point for how we design and deliver education at Bonebridge, says CEO Dr. Christof Gerber:

“Under the umbrella brand Bonebridge Education, we are currently working on extending the same approach to other areas of education. We will be offering hands-on trainings like the wet lab event, international fellowships for surgeons in our key markets, as well as online learning opportunities.”

A key part of the wet lab event’s success is certainly the faculty of Swiss surgeons whose contributions have been central to its development since its inception: Drs. Philipp Stillhard, Christoph Meier, Beat Moor, Jon Spycher, and Christian Spross. At the same time, the course continues to evolve: This year, we were pleased to welcome a new faculty member with Dr. Andri Guetg from Interlaken Hospital in Switzerland. Also, for the first time, we invited three surgical technicians/scrub nurses to participate, each assigned to one of the wet lab stations. They assisted participants and faculty throughout the procedures, adding another layer of teamwork to the training environment.

Celina Gmür, our Head of Clinical Affairs, was again in charge of organizing the 2026 event:

“I’m so proud about what we achieved together. Events like these are a true team effort, and everyone involved contributed to a smooth and welcoming experience. A special thank you goes to our co-hosts Medacta International and Born Medical AG for their valued support and contributions. And, of course, thank you to all faculty members and participants for making the course such an enjoyable experience!”
