THE Y-SHAPE
The Y-shape allows for better intraoperative visibility of the fracture zone, easy adaption of the plate’s ulnar and radial aspect, and postoperative protection of the FPL tendon.
THE SECOND ROW
The plate is designed to allow optimal subchondral placement of all distal screws. This includes the placement of screws from the second row, allowing five (narrow version of the plate) to six (wide version of the plate) screws to be placed in optimal subchondral position.
